The Impact of Remittances: Observations in Remitting and Receiving Countries

Remittance flows are an important source of funds for many developing countries. Worker Remittances have been growing rapidly in the past few years and now represent the largest source of foreign income for many developing countries. It is hard to estimate the exact size of remittance flows because many transfers take place through unofficial channels and therefore are not captured by authorities.
